Fiction should run up to roughly 4000 words maximum.
We only accept unpublished work and hold first
and one-time rights only i.e, once we have published
your work, you are free to submit it elsewhere.
We do accept simultaneous submissions but if your
work has been accepted elsewhere, please notify us
so that we may withdraw it from consideration.
Work that has appeared in print magazines will be
considered as long as it does not appear on the print
magazine's website. We do not accept work that has
already been published online.
Our budget allows payment for fiction
($40) but no payment (yet) for poetry and prose.
We're working on changing that.

Our print editions will be annual (issued in December).
Fiction should be no longer than 7000 words and
previously published works will not be considered.
At the time of publication, all rights revert back
to the author. Should you decide to republish
your piece elsewhere, please credit Underground Voices
as a place of previous publication. Our print edition
will fuse new works with the best of our montly online publication
