2004 - 2012

The Magazine's first ONLINE issue was in February 2004. From 2004 until the final 2012 December issue, Underground Voices published poetry, fiction, non-fiction and a monthly feature artist. The archives are a good indication of the kind of books Underground Voices publishes so feel free to browse.

2024

Although, we had transitioned from a magazine to an indie publishing company, in 2024, VOX Press asked the UV magazine to advertise the company's latest book, "Unit 29: Writing From Parchman Prison," a collection of writing from prisoners at the Mississippi State Penitentiary (Parchman Prison), the only maximum-security prison in that state.

As part of our promotion for this hard-hitting, raw, and honest collection, we put together a promotional page which links to three short stories from the book. See the promotional page and the three short stories.
